PAW's Annual Paralegal Scholarship

It is the Paralegal Association of Wisconsin’s privilege to annually award a scholarship to one exceptional paralegal student. The Paralegal Scholarship recognizes academic excellence, strong leadership skills, and community service. The scholarship winner is honored each year at the Association’s Annual Education Seminar.

Qualified applicants must be enrolled as or accepted as a full-time student in a paralegal education program, or have graduated from a paralegal program within six months of the date of his or her application. Further details regarding the application process, including additional criteria, required written materials, and a link to the application are posted annually in January.

Description: This program prepares learners for the rigors and ethical requirements of paralegal practice in various areas of substantive law. Each course emphasizes practical, realistic hands-on learning activities. Strong legal research and legal writing skills are developed. Flexible learning options are available to learners, including day, evening, interactive television (ITV), and online (eTech) courses. A unique opportunity to engage in a field study of the German legal system is also offered. NWTC further supports its paralegal learners and graduates through active participation in various paralegal organizations, local bar associations and by offering continuing legal education seminars to paralegals and attorneys.

Description: The MATC Paralegal Program prepares students for highly responsible entry-level positions as paralegals. Coursework includes ethics, substantive and procedural law, the American legal system, delivery of legal services, law office and related environments, the paralegal profession, legal research and writing, and law-related computer skills. Our program offers students hands on, practical classroom experiences and internship placements. All program classes are taught by practicing attorneys and paralegals, in classrooms equipped with modern technology.

PAW is a professional organization that prides itself on wanting to further paralegal education. To maintain an Active Voting membership status with PAW, one ethics credit per year is required. In order to obtain ethics credits PAW provides education opportunities to its members by posting upcoming seminars and presentations along with monthly chapter meetings and an annual seminar.
